Missouri University of Science and Technology

July 22, 2009

While performance evaluation forms often focus on results, it's also important to gauge leaders on how well they manage the process.  This year, I'm asking for your anonymous feedback on your director's leadership traits (as well as mine) using a survey adapted from John Maxwell's Developing the Leaders Around You

During the annual review, we will discuss the accomplishment of the goals and objectives established last July and set goals for the coming year.  In addition, we will analyze these survey results to define strengths and shortfalls from the perspectives of University Advancement employees.

I believe a good leader has vision (and the ability to engage others in that vision), is committed to the development and success of their staff, and encourages new initiatives and ideas.  That takes a great deal of self-awareness, integrity and drive on the part of the leader and is often difficult to measure.  I believe this tool will help each of us develop further as leaders.  Please complete this survey for your director, and complete this survey for me by July 29. Thank you in advance for your participation.

With appreciation,
