T. Boone Pickens to keynote Missouri Energy Summit

Texas oilman T. Boone Pickens, architect of the "Pickens Plan" to reduce U.S. dependence on foreign oil, is the keynote speaker for a statewide Energy Summit hosted by the University of Missouri's four campuses April 22-23 in Columbia.

Missouri S&T Chancellor John F. Carney III is chairing the summit, which will include presentations by several Missouri S&T researchers and talks from national energy experts, including alumni Joan Woodard, AMth'73, executive vice president and deputy laboratory director for Integrated Technology Programs at Sandia National Laboratories, and Robert Kruse, EE'81, executive director of global vehicle engineering for hybrids, electric vehicles and batteries at General Motors.
