2009 Mining Conference

I would like to extend to you a personal invitation to join us at the Mining Engineering Conference (Capacity Renewal: Past — Present — Future), on Sept. 1-3, 2009, at Missouri University of Science and Technology.

This conference will:

  • Focus on the technological directions of the mining industry and how to prepare graduates to meet those challenges.
  • Feature senior industry executives as keynote and executive forum presenters, who will speak on issues that affect the future of the mining industry.
  • Mix technical presentations with facility tours, research showcase, receptions and dinner with fireworks for a very welcoming and entertaining atmosphere for all participants.
  • Provide you with the opportunity to reconnect with classmates and the campus community.

In conjunction with the conference, Missouri S&T is providing professional development short courses in the following areas:

  • DPM Control with Drs. Jerry Tien and Stewart Gillies (4 hrs)
  • Energy Security with Dr. David Summers (4 hrs)
  • Mine Ground Control with Dr. Maochen Ge (4 hrs)
  • Open Pit Production Scheduling with GEMCOM (6 hrs)
  • Surface Mine Bench Design with explosives expert, and host of Discovery Channel's "The Detonators,"Dr. Paul Worsey (4 hrs)
