This information is being sent to the Missouri S&T community as a Timely Warning via email under the provisions of the Clery Act. Missouri S&T values a safe community for all students, faculty, staff and visitors.
At approximately 12:16 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, it was reported to the S&T Police Department that there was a post to the anonymous social media platform YikYak stating, “Im gonna shoot up this school.” The S&T Police Department, with the assistance of the Rolla Police Department, is actively investigating this threat.
As the safety of always, our students, faculty and staff are our top priority. University Police reminds everyone to always be aware of their surroundings. The purpose is to heighten your safety awareness and enable you to take actions to help increase your safety, and aid in the prevention of similar crimes. Missouri S&T encourages prompt reporting of all types of crime. The Missouri S&T Police Department can be reached 24/7 at 573-341-4300. Report all emergencies to 911.
